About me

Introduction Hi, as you can see from the photo I am a Calyptorhynchus funereus, a Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo, one of the world’s largest parrots, and a species fortunately still relatively common in south-eastern Australia. In my day job I am a low-ranking public servant in Canberra, but during my time off I like to flap around wailing, as we Black-Cockatoos do, and ripping rotten trees apart to extract grubs. I also like a nice pine cone. However I have also taken the trouble to begin this blog to comment on Australian, and global, politics, society and culture.
