| Introduction | I've been playing poker since late 2005, when I downloaded PartyPoker. I started off playing the $0.05/0.10 beginners' cash games, and got a lot better playing play money sit and goes before moving to real money ones. After an brief obsession with 7-card stud, I read a bunch of poker books and started contributing to Cardschat.com, where I came to understand pot odds and other such concepts, mainly via the hand analysis forum. In early 2007 I discovered Cardrunners and watched most of their videos, which has definitely helped me develop a loose-aggressive game. In June that year I started playing PLO more seriously and went through a big upswing on the Ongame network, unfortunately followed by a downswing which put me off poker for a bit. I've found PLO and PLO8 to be very profitable games, but I've recently had a lot of success at NL hold'em as well on PKR. My style is basically tight-aggressive, but dependent on game conditions. I like to play an exploitative game that picks up on my opponents' tendencies, so I don't play a lot of tables at time in general. I believe the most important skill in poker is game selection. |
