Introduction Joseph Lamas started one of the nation's first global education programs in the mid 1970s. Most recently he founded, with a group of outstanding educators, the Cambridge Global Studies Academy in Miami-Dade County, Fl., USA. He currently serves in the CGSA's Collegium and its Board of Directors. He also developed and currently teaches the course, "Global Perspectives." The CGSA has become one of the most successful global education program in the state. It is a 4-year high school program for advanced students in association with the University of Cambridge (UK). Its mission is to educate empowered global leaders who will want to create a better world. Mr. Lamas' extensive global education experience and his previous experience with "Fortune 500" corporations have facilitated his conceptualization and implementation of global education programs. PUBLICATIONS: Connecting the Past to the Present (International Thompson Publishing); Dade County in the Global Community: a Resource Guide for Teachers, co-author (Florida International University); Teaching About Prejudice and Discrimination (American Psychological Association.) Two books pending publication.
