| Introduction | First Hawk memories are listening on the radio as they lost to Calgary and Edmonton in the Conference Finals. Remember watching my first live game way up in the corner balcony at the old Stadium (Savard v. Gretzky!). --- There was Dirk Graham's hatty in the Finals, washing out of the playoffs when CuJo and Felix stood on their heads. Got to see JR's last game in a Hawks uni, where after a tough series loss to the loaded Avalanche, he skated around the ice and waived to the crowd one final time. Watched from seats in the top row at the UC as we lost again the next year to Colorado. --- Then I obliged Dollar Bill's efforts to drive me away and became less of a Hawks fan and more of an NHL fan. --- Always kept an eye on the team, tho they were pretty unwatchable during the way too long Zhamnov-Daze era. Finally, Dollar Bill up and died and like so many of you, I couldn’t wait to come back. --- My "expertise" is only that of a longtime fan who's watched a lot of hockey, watched a lot of Hawks hockey these past few years as a season ticket holder, and does some online research. --- Thank you for taking the time to read - comments are always welcomed! |
