Introduction | Once upon a time I counted amateur bull riding and semi-pro baseball as hobbies. My new 'obsession' is flying airplanes! I make a living as a Mechanical Engineer in the data storage business. I am a fairly new pilot, got my PPL in 2008 and have about 140 (200.4-current) hrs in the logbook. My goal is to get 200 total hrs and at least 25 (40.6-current) hrs tailwheel time before the plane flies for insurance reasons. I am checked out in the Citabria 7GCAA, C172, DA20 and the DA40 G1000. As of yet, I have no 'akro' or unusual attitude training (complete) but plan to add that before the plane is finished, along with RV transition training (complete). I am passionate about all things aviation and grew up around it to a certain degree as my Dad is also a pilot. To build my own airplane has been a dream of mine for most of my adult life so this will indeed be my 'vision quest.' I love to travel and hope to take the RV7 on some grand adventures when its done. I am also quite drawn to the art of 'Bush Flying', which is a perfect mix of my love for the mountains and flying. In a perfect world I would have a CubCrafters Carbon Cub parked next to the '7' to explore the mountains with. |
