Introduction I embrace womanhood. I cherish motherhood. I rejoice in humanity. I remember the past, delight in the present and welcome the future. I celebrate my life.
Interests My family is my greatest achievement, I was always meant to be a mom. Motherhood has filled voids in places of my heart I never knew existed. I have learned that the greatest joy in this life is not only having the opportunity to raise and love children, but to have the honor of earning their love in return. It is the most empowering emotion, a pure and honest love, a deep and healing love, the greatest love. So between coloring books, kissing owies, singing ABC's, tinker toys & nursery rhymes, changing diapers, picking food out of my hair and off the ceiling, story book & cuddle time, checking the closet for monsters, cleaning up....again, I LOVE to Blog and have a date-night with my sexy husband. I also enjoy the chance to watch a good movie or chill with a book and a bubble bath. I like to keep up with politics and world events. I live to travel and enjoy trying new and exotic foods. I enjoy interior decorating, inventing in the kitchen, and picnics. I love the summer, camping, hiking and barbeques. I listen to hard rock, like having big family parties with lots of laughs, good food and board games. I'm sort of a spur of the moment kinda gal, and I love a good thrill. I went skydiving for my 31st bday, flew a cessna plane because I just had to, and dream of one day driving a Harley cross-country with my husband. I must have my "girls" night each month, I love to dance, and I enjoy the hunt for a good bargain.
Favorite Movies I love to watch the...WOW, touched me deep, hit me powerfully, made me think about my life, reminded me of what it's like to be human..kind of movie. But...I'm a sucker for any good movie period! Usually it depends upon my mood, but whether it's comedy, action, drama, thriller or a sappy romance, I want to make sure it was worth the two hours of my life. I absolutely love a good thriller, the hair on your arm stands up kinda thriller, and M. Knight Shyamalan is my favorite! I like to be surprised, so I enjoy a movie I can't figure out. I also enjoy historical romances, and in my opinion BBC's North and South is one of the best romances put to film. Some of my fav's are the Die Hard series, Cold Mountain, The Shining, Terminator Series, P.S. I Love You, Spitfire Grill, Signs, Eraser, The Holiday, Innerspace, Gladiator, Onegin, The Sixth Sense, Emma (Gwymeth Palthrow), The Favor, and True Lies.
Favorite Music I am an eclectic music lover. I enjoy almost everything...seriously I do! I live for music! I have it on in my kitchen, in my bedroom, while I'm driving, cleaning, and relaxing. Our lives are wrapped up in music. Songs are the gateway to our past and so many memories can be locked inside one small chord. I can listen to a song and suddenly be flooded with memories of a certain period in my life, a specific person, a moment. I love music that moves me and makes me feel alive. Whether I want to completely rock out and bang my head, kick up my heels and dance, cry, or just have a great sing along. I enjoy it all! Classical, Bluegrass, Latin, Rock, Country, Pop...the list can go on and on. (Pink, Celine Dion, Samuel Barber, Patsy Cline, Franz Schubert, Dierks Bentley, Raskal Flatts, Inara George, Gypsy Kings, Soggy Bottom Brothers, The Fray, John Mayer, Loreena Mckennitt, Travis Tritt, Black Eyed Peas, Tracy Chapman, .... I'm also a recovering RA (Rock-Aholic), so I'm a closet rocker. I turn up the music when I'm alone. I like it all, 50's rock n roll, 70's classic, 80's big hair 80's, heavy metal, alternative rock, on and on and on. I like Staind, 3 Doors Down, Alice in chains, Guns N Roses, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Soundgarden Nickleback, Days of the New.....
Favorite Books I love to read when I get the chance, which, with 2 children...3 if you count my husband, is very rare these days. There is something magical about escaping into your own imagination by creating your very own vision and depth of a story. You are an actual part in the creative process. You add your own signature to each of the characters, the locations and scenery. It belongs to you, you own it, and no one can change it. It's a great imaginary playdate. Some great reads are: The Weight of Water, Ride The Wind, Pride and Prejudice, Multiple Intelligences, and Refuge. Great authors: Terry Tempest Williams. She's a naturalist and environmental activist and her stories revolve around her love of nature and the beautiful world we live in. Her work will move you to be a better human being. Another great author I enjoy is Anita Shrieve. She's a fantastic story teller, incredibly detailed with amazing descriptions, wraps you in from the first sentence. She really knows how to capture the human soul in all its splendor and complexity.
