| Introduction | "Jelly Bean" is our affectionate nickname for our son, Liam. He was born on August 9, 2007. He has three older siblings and two parents who welcomed him with open arms and loving hearts. He was given his nickname by our OB at our 8 week ultrasound, and the name just stuck. Initially diagnosed in utero with a severe congenital heart defect known as HLHS, we were happy to learn he had less serious heart problems upon his arrival. He has had one heart surgery and we are monitoring his heart to determine if he will need more surgeries in the future. |
