Introduction	Please note the blip of an island between the two arrows in the big picture of Japan and mainland Asia. That's Tsushima, a semi-tropical island paradise 6 months of the year and bloody freezing the rest of the time. It's also where I am currently an assistant language teacher with the JET program, teaching at 4 middle schools and 4 elementary schools with some of the most amazing and outrageous students that I could have ever imagined. Mostly, though, I'm trying to stay sane and thrive in a culture in which I will always be an outsider. Thank the deities for ama-zake and mochi.
