| Introduction | For over 25 years I've taught world religions to populations as diverse as an independent high school, a maximum security prison, adult ed. at churches and synagogues. I try to connect the wisdom and teachings from different traditions to my life and the life of my students. Although a practicing Jew by choice, I come from a mixed marriage. I have an MDiv. from a Protestant seminary, have studied Hinduism and Islam, and my earliest connection to the Spirit is through nature. India, Mexico, Spain, California and New York have all been home. I’ve watched the sunrise on Mt. Everest, the tip of India, the hills of NJ & WA, the inner cities of CA & NY. I've worked with high-risk youth on the Lower East Side and high-risk investors on the Upper East Side. Married for 32 years, we have 2 wonderful sons. The wellspring that quenches my spiritual thirst may have one source, but it travels in many directions. This blog is a collection of the moments when I’ve seen, from many sources & many traditions, that which connects us to a larger, fuller life. I hope that by weaving the connections together they will offer solace and calm in a world full of disconnects and fears. |
