Introduction I am from Northern Ireland and serve with the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) as a Global Mission Worker. I worked and lived in Malawi from 1995 - 2015 for the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Synod of Livingstonia, a partner church of PCI. The first 10 years were spent teaching at the Women's Ministry in Zomba Theological College. In 2006 I moved to Mzuzu where I was the Early Childhood Co-ordinator for CCAP. This involved community development working with rural and urban CBCC's (Community Based Childcare Centres) in trying to promote learning through play by teaching teachers and working with children. In 2016 I moved to Lusaka to work with CCAP Synod of Zambia as their Early Childhood Co-ordinator. This job involves training teachers from CCAP Primary and Community Schools, and a few church based ECD centres. It also involves mentoring teachers and helping ECD committees and church leaders understand their role in promoting ECD in Zambia. Once again, my focus is learning through play which is quite an alien concept here! Enjoy my blog - all of it is based on my own personal opinion unless stated otherwise and is really just my ramblings!!
