| Introduction | Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury in the UK. The individual affected will lose muscle and sensory control and the vast majority become full time wheelchair users for the rest of their lives. By working directly with spinal cord injured people, we understand the problems and challenges they face. As well as providing practical solutions to these problems, we are able to identify any failings in the statutory services and work to make changes that benefit every one of the 40,000 people in the UK with a spinal cord injury. |
