| Introduction | I’ve been working on a project the past couple years, and it's the reason why I started this blog and my etsy shop originally, though it has gone through a few incarnations. The original plan was to make a collage for everyday of a year, inspired by other artists who make a piece of artwork daily. The year represented a specific and particularly flawed year in the past. Making a tangible year of art, was my way of somehow correcting, redoing, overriding it. Making a collage everyday quickly proved unrealistic for me. It wasn't enough time to be sure about each one, so the project was reworked a couple more times. The way this project is working itself out now, is proving much better than past attempts. I have been cleaning out the studio, mining the past, trying to catch up with myself, and posting and listing work found from different periods and projects. It's given me the opportunity to reflect on art, art-making, and the life that surrounded the things I've made with others and on my own. My Found Days project has turned out to not be the neat little package I planned, but for me, art (and life) isn't like that anyway. http://www.FoundDays.etsy.com |
