| Introduction | Turning 40 is what happened... It's true. In August 2005 I was six months shy of my 40th birthday. Good job, and one I liked; good friends; comfortable home; and enough activities to suit my free time. What was missing, as most would guess, was the significant other, the guy. The guy and the family that I always wanted. And that's what was resonating in my mind--the family that I always wanted. Did I need to be married to create a family? No. In my mind, creating a family had a limited time frame; the mate could wait. My family can be created through adoption. |
