| Introduction | White beard, head turning white. Normally a genial fellow, I worry about threats to tolerance, diversity and social equity. Ratty journalism makes me really grumpy. Now 71, I retired six years ago after a working lifetime as a city newspaper journalist, and live quietly with my wife Merry in a home full of memories, the place where we brought up four children on the New South Wales Central Coast. |
