| Introduction | I'm never without a sketchbook to hand so I am constantly drawing and noting ideas or stories for my paintings. Sometimes these drawings are left in the sketchbook and other times they develop into fully realized paintings. I didn't attend formal Art School but have taught myself by reading books and figuring out 'how to do it' on my own. I think this has given me a truly original approach. I like to watch people unobtrusively in coffee shops or informal gatherings; their gestures inspire me. I am fascinated by mythology, both biblical and folkloric and how it is still applicable to everyday situations. Hopefully these paintings will speak for themselves but each person will take something a bit different from my paintings and I'm ok with that. I am represented by the Mark Penney Gallery and Reflecting Spirit Gallery in Ucluelet, B.C. Canada |
