| Favorite Books | I have a long list of books but here are some particular favourites: Alexander McCall Smith's Scotland Street and Isabel Dalhousie books set in Edinburgh, anything by Barbara Kingsolver, Carol Shields, Muriel Spark, Rose Tremain, Sebastian Faulkes and Isabel Allende (particulrly The House of Spirits, Eva Luna and The infinite Plan), Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund, The Tenderness of Wolves -Steff Penney, A Gathering Light by Jennifer Donnelly, The Butcher Boy -Patrick McCabe, A Fine Balance -Rohinton Mistry and the poets Norman MacCaig and Carol Ann Duffy. |
