| Introduction | after over 25 years in practice as a Chartered Surveyor, followed by an 18 year sabbatical as a Senior Lecturer at a leading UK University, he has been a visiting professor at two Scandinavian Universities and an External Examiner at a University in The Netherlands. He is fluent in English and Dutch and has strong French. He established an EU funded transnational placement scheme and has been an EU funded researcher in transnational work experience at differing levels. He has been a member of RICS Regional Boards and, in 2009, was elected to the RICS International Governing Council (IGC). His fathers demise in 1997 left him with a Paternal Tree of 27, which has since grown to 5700+ (Aug 2010) plus additional trees for his Paternal Grandmothers family, the Pentlands - who trace their origins back to the Viking Jarl of Orkney. Visits to family in Australia & New Zealand in 2009 provided several further genealogical challenges, followed by others into the history of friends families has led to his frming a U3A 'Family History through the WEb' Group in mid 2010. All such challenges are welcomed. |
