| Introduction | Hi there! My name is Kathy! I’ll be leading you along on this rambling mix of topics that appeal to me. I am currently 52, married, mother of two great children, living in Western NY. I work as a “part time” church secretary/administrative assistant. (Church secretaries work 24/7!) “NotTheNorm?” When I purchased my first computer 16-17 years ago, I started playing MMORPGs (massively multiple online role playing games). I quickly discovered that the majority of other people I interacted with were 20 year-old single males, & that if I did find an actual female (as opposed to a female character played by a male), she was invariably much younger than I was. I needed a display name for the games’ forums. Since I was clearly not in the demographics that game companies targeted & therefore an unusual player (female, mid thirties, married with children), I chose “NotTheNorm” for my display name. I can’t tell you how many people assumed I was some guy named Norm! My interests are far flung. I may start out blogging about quilting, but you’ll find posts here on any number of topics. And I can’t come up with any other witty, creative name that covers it all. |
