Introduction | 1980 Marine Corps Electrician learning fundamental electricity and generator operations at Courthouse Bay North Carolina. Stationed at Marine Base Hawaii our unit provided electricity to remote military field operations with trailer mounted generators and floodlight units. 1987 Ambulance Electrician in Minnesota for Road Rescue Ambulance installing electrical components in ambulances. 1989 I began as an Apprentice Electrician working in residential and commercial construction in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Missouri. Eventually working my way up to a Journeyman, Foreman and Master Electrician. The 2008 Mortgage Crisis created a major downturn in the construction field that led me to employment as a Hospital Electrician where I gained new experience with High Voltage (13,800 and 4180 volts) electrical distribution equipment, and surgical lighting/equipment. It is now 2018 and I have taken another career change as a Railroad Signalman Apprentice learning the electrical systems that control all the crossing gates, track switches and signal lights. |
