| Introduction | From Montana, Laurie spent 11 years in LA working as an artist in the entertainment industry. She has done private mural commissions, set design, matte painting and other illustration. Laurie has for years lived in Montana again; first in the mountains out of Augusta, and now on the family ranch near Cascade. She especially enjoys painting pleine air landscapes, and the interaction between animals or people and their environment. She is increasingly attracted to the stories of people living on the land – and to the womens’ stories, as they juggle their many and varied circumstances. Laurie received the 2008 C.M. Russell Art Auction CEO Award, given to one auction participant, and was also selected as one of the top 100 in the Paint America 100 National competition. |
