IntroductionI'm a 68-year-old lawyer with some hairy health episodes happily fading into the past. I've had a lifelong interest in writing, which led me first into journalism. I published a novel (see link) in late 2007, and I'm struggling (not too strenuously) to finish two sequels. My publisher appears either to have gone belly-up or booted me out of the stable of pending authors (or both). So, I have self published my collection of shorter writings that publisher was under contract to have published. Whatever… I'm not expecting to get rich at this business. I love languages and have dabbled in Russian, with a vague notion of traveling there someday.

Sponges and tongues are frequently misspelled. Is it because both are thirsty?

No. It's because one is pronounced "spunge" to rhyme with "grunge," and the other is pronounced "tung," to rhyme with "dung." Which latter item is about what I think of this question.
