Introduction	The world is a smaller place then it was when I was younger. Growing up in Houston, Texas, people rarely ventured out of their hometown, let alone travel to some far distant land like California, and for most, the thought of leaving the United States was absolutely unconceivable. Soon after graduation, I joined the military, left the United States and have lived and worked on 25 countries spanning 5 continents.
