| Introduction | I have been doing photography as a professional and dedicate Amateur Since receiving my first camera as a gift from my parents in 1964 on the day I left home for boot camp at Fort Dix, New Jersey. During the first thirty five of these years I concentrated on black and white photography, venturing into color only when a paying assignment required that I do so. Black and white was totally under my control from exposure, developing and enlargement thru mounting and framing. Color was something else. Who do you know who owns a color darkroom? Not me. Color processing was always "pay and pray". Then came Digital Image Rendering Technology and the miracle of Adobe Photoshop. At once it was possible to nurse images back to what they felt like when I made the exposure. Although black and white photography will always be closest to my heart, I now find myself doing backstrokes in a sea of color!! |
