Gould's Book of Fish; 100 Years of Solitude; The Alchemist; anything by Dostoyevski but especially the Brothers Karamazov, Crime and Punishment. The Songlines; Faces in the Water, Fungi of Southern Australia, by Katie Syme, and Yukio Mishima's The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with The Sea, how could i forget... and this other Japanese guy who wrote a short story about a mechanical sea-gull, in a book of modern short stories edited by Mishima. I love the amazing sence of space in the countryside. Space. and Time. so slow. And stories about sand are good. And, Maurikami. And the Complete Oxford Dictionary, And of course, Pattern Languages, and, the Permaculture Designer's Manual. etc etc etc... |
