| Introduction | In Save A Life, filmmakers Jordan Burbank and Tara Jacobson work to uncover the 1983 MSM Blood Ban, which regulates that all gay men are prohibited from donating blood and vital organs. They go into depth to uncover the reasonings of why the FDA instated and has refused to lift the ban, how the United Kingdom is lobbying to reform the blood donation laws to allow gay men to do their part in donating blood. With the injustice being on an international scale the filmmakers searched for people who have been persecuted and have even lost family members because of the ban. They also head to Canada to uncover the reasonings behind the ban on gay sperm donation, where many men have been prohibited from their right to have their own children through artificial insemination. With the fight for gay marriage only beginning, and with homosexual rights being the battle of the new generation, the two filmmakers are working towards making a difference and attempt to have all men be created equal to help their fellow men to Save A Life. |
