| Introduction | Born in Braveheart Country (Central Scotland), I am now an economic migrant (living in England). I am married with a daughter. I went to university as a (ahem!) mature student and studied at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, taking a BA in Tourism Management and Combined Studies (Journalism, Heritage and Hospitality). This blog started as part of my specialist journalism course. All the way through my University course, I specialised in the cruise industry, and I was able to present a Paper to the 1st International [Academic] Cruise Conference on my undergraduate dissertation. For many years I have been pursuing a passion - writing books about my favourite ocean liners and cruise ships (currently 9 published, 1 in writing and a further 2 contracted). In addition I absolutely love being a cruise ship speaker as I get to talk about my favourite subject, maritime history, and travel the world visiting lots of interesting places and meeting lots of lovely people. |
