Introduction Author of the book "Common Christianity / Uncommon Commentary" (Amazon.com and Lulu.com), Walters is a layman who grew up in the old Episcopal church, strayed, became a journalist and public relations executive, and 30 years later became a baptized believer in Christ in the fall of 2001. He writes, edits, serves and teaches in the Christian community. His column is published Tuesdays in the metro Indianapolis, Ind., "Current" newspapers in Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville and Fishers (circulation: approx. 90,000 homes). "Spirituality" is an opinion, story or lesson from a Christian perspective, meant sincerely, with love and without apologies to secular or denominational convention (his independent streak comes naturally, exacerbated no doubt by several years as a sportswriter). Upon coming to Christ in his late 40s, Walters became friends with longtime Christian minister Russ Blowers (1924-2007), who mentored his faith and Christian writing. Walters is a member of East 91st Street Christian Church, Indianapolis, where he is active in several ministries and leads a Wednesday night study taught by retired Cambridge theology lecturer Dr. George Bebawi.
