Introduction	We are Mike and Ann Brown, Captain and First Mate, respectively, of the Motor Vessel Traveling Soul. Prior to departing on our cruising adventure, Mike spent 22 years in the Army – initially as an infantryman, then later as a special assistant to a whole host of decision makers – before retiring and joining SAIC as a senior analyst. Eventually he became a manager and eventually was the Director of SAIC’s Strategic Assistant Center. As SAIC began changing, however, the company and Mike agreed to go their own different ways. Mike became an independent consultant, which left him plenty of time to learn about full-time cruising. Before becoming the full time First Mate on Traveling Soul Ann had a number of jobs. She has been both a banker and a travel agent but for the last fifteen years or so, she has been focused on health care. For three years she ran her own company which took care of the elderly. After that she became a hospice nursing assistant – a job for which she was especially well suited. She did that for about eight years. Mike and Ann have been married since 1973.
