Introduction	I'm just a regular girl who likes to eat, and therefore likes to cook. I was not born into the family of Jacques Pepin, Julia Childs, or Martha Stuart. All my cullinary instruction is working itself out right here in this blog. Though this isn't the biggest feat in the world: I'm totally self taught. I'm eating something good each day, making something new each week, learning some new skill or technique each month, and getting better every year. I probably won't become world renowned, but I figure by the time I have kids they'll have nothing to complain about and my grandkids will beg to come over for my homemade treats. I'm making sure I live long enough to see those days by using super lean cuts of meat, reduced fat dairy products, low glycemic index but natural sugars, ancient grains or at least whole grains, high quality oils and fats sparingly, and as much fresh fruits and veggies as I can squeeze into a recipe and making everything organic, homegrown, or homemade as much as possible.
