Introduction	Married for 60 years, with five children, one deceased. He was profoundly developmentally disabled. Three adopted granddaughters. The birth mother abused drugs and was an alcoholic. As a result the youngest suffered from severe Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and took her own life at the age of 11 1/2 years. I am a retired elected official -- San Luis Obispo County Supervisor, 1999-2007. Was involved in starting Martha's Place. A diagnostic and treatment center for children 0-5 who exhibit at-risk behavior, and who may suffer from FASD. These children can benefit if treated very early. It is specialized treatment, so regular mental health therapy may not help. Was helpful in placing the famous Hearst Ranch, 83,000 acres, under permanent conservation easement. Write this blog!

What's the earliest you've gotten up to watch cartoons and what did you see?

I would never get up early to watch a cartoon! But would watch Bullwinkle if already up.
