About me

Introduction Well, age 54 jumped right out at me. I thought, Wow...I really am old. My grandkids said so! "My outside looks different than my insides," hoping the cheeriness in my voice convinced them. "Inside, I am a kid just like you!" We all squealed in delight as I cumbersomely (hoping for the angel of strength to bless me) tried to lift myself off the floor while coloring with my younger grandchildren, Lily and Gabe. I kind of rolled onto my knees and held onto a chair while ungraciously rising to my feet. I think I lied.

My loves are my Lord, my Jon, children, grandchildren, all my family (mine and my husband's), my friends, and chocolate. The order may vary from day to day.

My life is full of cliches and snapshot moments.

I enjoy my boring, get to read a great book (tell you about that later), quiet, alone times. Those times are quashed by the not-so-infrequent teen drama in my home.

My life is full. But, there is always room for more. Come be a part of this whirlwind adventure called life. It goes by so quickly. I won't just tell you the good things. You will be in on days that aren't so good. Great news! There is always a tomorrow.
Favorite Movies Love the funny, light romance, mystery, and scary movies. Just Friends is hysterical. The movie Made of Honor is a must see for those of you that love the funny, light romance that is clean enough to watch with your mother.
Favorite Music Oh, just about anything I can remember or dance to. I think dancing alone is the best option so I don't embarrass my family and friends. Singing, they can just live with it.
Favorite Books Hands down, The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyers. She has written a series of books based on, of all things, vampires...Twilight, Eclipse and New Moon. But, don't make snap judgements. These are the kind of books that once you start reading, you can't put down. Even my closest friend handed the first book to her husband, and now he is into the second book. This series of fantasy rescues us from doing the dishes, watching TV, and anything that we should really be doing but are skipping because we love what we are reading. The writer captures our thoughts and gives us moments of childhood make-believe that we so miss. She has a cult following. Even have seen black T-shirts that say "Twilight Moms". I want one. I think I am going to start a Twilight Mom chapter here. I joined a book club and love the opportunity I get to share with other women. I found I saved hundreds because I didn't need my therapist anymore! Every month I will give new reviews on a book we will read. I would love it, if you shared yours with me, too. I will list your reviews in my blog.
