| Introduction | Mr. Hastings grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended Marist School (which Sports Illustrated honored as the #15 ranked high school athletic program in the US). He received his English degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. At the age of 20, he spent a few months living and working at Shakespeare & Co. Bookstore on the Left Bank of Paris. After graduating from W&L, Mr. Hastings began his teaching career at Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware. He married his wife, Martha, in November of 2007 and is in his fourth year of teaching at Gilman. He has successfully completed three years of his Masters degree from Middlebury's Bread Loaf School of English. |
