Introduction Ten years ago, my life changed abruptly. I finally landed my dream job: teaching kindergarten. I loved the children. I loved the planning. I lived, breathe, and slept "school". But I also found out about"school politics". Our ideas clashed. Throughout the years, there have been bumps, tears, roars, and even death. When I left the Eastern Shore on a job, my husband refused to come with me. It saddened me greatly. I wanted his support. Then one day, in 2005, he died suddenly from a heart attack. Then it was me alone and my daughter. I had to make it on my own.Everyday is a lesson. Everyday I learn something new. How to direct someone without sounding patronizing. How to encourage a reader to read more. How to get a kid to want to write. I still love it, even though I am exhausted and exhilarated at the end of the week, I am at a loss when I am not at school. Why? Because I love school!
