Introduction	I am concerned with telling stories and helping others tell their stories, especially those who have been robbed of the ability to do so. For me, they are the children of the South Bronx, the women of Eastern Congo, the survivors of the Rwandan genocide, the amazing thespians of the Mathare slums in Nairobi, Kenya. The list goes on. I have no interest in saving the world because I don't think people need to be saved, I think they need to be understood. I honestly believe that many of the world's problems stem not only from an acceptance of simple explanations, but a demand for it. As a result, millions of people have been robbed of their humanity, replaced instead with cardboard cutouts of suffering and "underdevelopment." What happens when these people get a voice? What happens when their stories are told loud and clear and laid out for everyone to hear? My goal is to find out.
