Introduction	As a teacher who recently moved just south of Daytona Beach, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to run a relay with an amazing team of ladies that crosses the state of Florida and ends almost in my backyard...especially when it is a fundraiser to provide fitness opportunities for kids! I have run off-and-on since high school, and have been ready for a new physical challenge for awhile now. When I heard about this relay, all of the stars seemed to align: the race is in my new home state, so I am excited to have the opportunity to see the area in an unique way. I am a nurse and a teacher and firmly believe in the necessity of sports and physical education for the well-being of our kids, and when else would I have the chance to set a goal and work towards it with a hilarious, hard-working team?
