| Introduction | Sarah Rockwell, M.Ed. has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education and a Master's degree in Special Education with a focus on reading instruction. Her doctoral research is focused on teaching academic skills to children with moderate to severe disabilities. Sarah believes that all children, regardless of disability status, are entitled to high quality academic instruction. She also believes that families are a child's first and most influential teachers. Sarah is also a wife, mother, and Trained Babywearing Educator. She has experienced the benefits of responsive parenting and babywearing and believes that these benefits can be even greater for children with disabilities and their families. Through Special Connections Consulting, Sarah has combined her interests in special education, academic instruction, babywearing, and responsive parenting. She offers in-home consultations to families with young children with and without disabilities. She also shares her love of babywearing and of helping children with special needs through her blog. |
