Introduction | For more than twenty-five years, I have practiced an increasingly architectural brand of interior design. Having complete the third-year of the NAAB accredited 5-year B. Arch. curriculum at NewSchool of Architecture & Design, I am seeking an internship placement. See www.boatmandesign.com for residential portfolio. I am fascinated by design inspiration (that comes from nothing) and endeavor to honor this great gift. This blog chronicles a new phase in my work / life as I begin with the primer and rigors of architectural study / practice. Always opinionated, I strive to achieve an informed opinion on design, primarily in architecture and interior design, and offer my best guess on any of design's other forms. Please comment on whatever you see here that interests you. If I posted it, it is because I am interested in response and sharing the conversation the post stimulates. With kind regards, Lyle |

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?
Flexibility is more important than expandability as it also offers the option of reduction.
