| Introduction | Laura García Hernández (sibilademente, Franco) is an intermedia artist who explores new territorios of artistic practice. She moves among grounds considered to be part of literature, music, performance, installation and video, among others. A student of Bartolomé Ferrando, she carries out a laboratory of urban art and public space with the most outstanding artists and collective groups of action art, direct action and urban intervention, among which stand out Squat of direct Re-action, Hiperión 97.11, Zierra Rezzia and Said Dokins among others. In 2010, her most recent productions in Intermedia art and video have become part of feminist TV and the School of Free Feminism in Brazil. She currently represents México in the FEMLINK Internacional Video Festival, among over 130 invited countries. She has been selected in the 2nd Biennial of Video Art in Camagüey, Cuba and in the Internacional No-Local Festival of Bogotá, Colombia, among others. Currently she continues with research practices that are very close to visual anthropology and archeology of the media, with overarching themes being gender, biopolitics and public space, in a decidedly intermedia notion. |
