| Introduction | My name is Jennifer. I am an ESL and ESL Literacy instructor, a partner, a mother, a crafter, and a horticultural hobbyist. I started teaching ESL to adults in 2003. I have taught Literacy CLB Foundation and Phase I, and am now teaching CLB 2/3/4 and CLB 3/4/5 with some focus on CLB Literacy Phase II and III to adult immigrants and refugees. Over the years I have found that students are interested in learning about Canadian culture and seasonal activities. I try to include these kinds of topics in a variety of hands-on activities and field trips. I have been inspired by horticultural therapy projects and my artist husband. I believe that if you are involved in the process of creating something, you will learn more than simply by watching or hearing. |
