About me

Introduction Townie was a world class commuter. Each weekday he drove 100 miles back and forth to the city like a masochistic moth drawn to a flame. He watched brake lights blink until his eyes watered, listened to radio traffic reports until his ears bled and learned to shift lanes quicker than a stock car racer. And then he stopped. He turned his back on the interstate, settled in a cottage by a river and sought a sense of community for the first time since childhood. He embraced life as a husband, father and surburbanite. Like an alien who comes in peace, he keeps an open mind while dealing with Boy Scouts, youth league sports, parent teacher organizations and the other arcane aspects of small town life.
