| Introduction | The Winona Early Childhood Initiative's vision is a community in which all young children have abundant opportunities to learn and thrive. Our mission is to educate and motivate every sector of our community to invest in young children and their families. We focus in three strategic areas to accomplish our mission: quality childcare, the health and well-being of children, and community involvement. Winona's ECI is one of 70 Initiatives across MN. We received a grant to begin our process in January 2006 from the Southern MN Initiative Foundation. Now in our second year, we have developed several projects and are building upon our current successes to create sustainable, collaborative projects that will continue to benefit Winona's young children. |
