About me

Location	Italy
Introduction	Born in England, grew up in Canada, I have lived in Liguria and Tuscany, Italy for more than half of my life. Since 2015 I have walked long-distance paths in Italy and Europe: first, from home to Rome on the Via Francigena. Then in October 2016 I set off on foot in the opposite direction, towards Santiago de Compostela. I walked as far as the border with France, then in October 2017 I continued as far as Montpellier. In April 2018 I walked from Montpellier to Toulouse, and in 2019 I covered the second half of the total distance between my home and Santiago de Compostela, then Finisterre! In September 2019 I was back on the Camino de Santiago, starting in Porto. In 2020 I set off from Chiavari to walk to Assisi, stopping in Florence; in June 2021 I continued along Saint Francis' Way from Florence to Assisi, and in September/October I walked from Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca on the Via Francigena of the South. In May-June 2022 I began at my birthplace in Leeds, England, and walked to Dover; in 2023 I resumed my walk in Calais, heading home across France, Switzerland and Italy! In 2024 – 2025 I walked the Via Romea Germanica from northern Germany to Rome.
