| Introduction | As the youngest daughter of a long time professional photographer Kristie Rae Gillooly grew up surrounded by cameras, negatives and other darkroom paraphernalia. And though from a young age she was ingrained with a strong value in documenting the little moments in life it was not until high school that she discovered her own passion for taking pictures. While at Thayer Academy she participated in two european photography workshops. These artistic adventures sparked her love for travel and culture and confirmed her passion for telling stories through photographs. In 2006 Kristie moved to Madrid, Spain where she completed her first two years of undergraduate studies. While overseas she spent any spare time she had traveling, learning about people and bettering her craft. She spent a month backpacking through eastern europe and a summer in Santorini, Greece before moving home to Boston. After graduating from Suffolk University in 2010 with degrees in Spanish and Journalism she founded Kristie Rae Images, a small Boston based photography company that seeks to document people and events through meaningful and unique images. Kristie currently resides in South Boston. |
