| Introduction | Noooo it doesn't stand for Department of Atomic Energy. DAE (Dooshtu Ashol Ei)[He In Fact Is The Bad One] and RAE (Raja Ashol Ei) [He In Fact Is The King] were the first two characters Udayan Mitra created when he was three or four, just before the next pair--twin sisters Lutibon and Futibon--materialized. DAE and RAE are not related. RAE, as might be expected, is long absconding. DAE has been a hero of mythical proportions, appearing in likely and unlikely situations, exercising (judiciously) the Ultimate Unquestionable Vow--DAE'r Ponn [It Will Be Done], and walking away into the sunset or moonshine, shrouded in mystery. Blogging in DAE's name is a bit of a brand extension--it gives him some visibility but doesn't really capture his essence. But then it doesn't have to--since these are mere musings, and only written in his name, not by him. In fact there's an evil rumour that the blogs are written by Mitra Mitra, his arch enemy. |
