Introduction | I'm used to call myself gainfully unemployed but now a more honest description is involuntarily retired. I've always written something, had a story or two in the works, and now I'm indulging myself and posting my works |
Interests | Writing fiction--both fan fiction and original. I am also a fan of horse racing since I was 12. I'm also keenly interested in archaeology, history, and inspecting local ghost towns |
Favorite Movies | The Last Waltz, Seabiscuit The Big Chill, Blackhawk Down, "The Help", a great movie, resonated with me because I lived through that era. And don't forget the classic "Choose Me", with Keith Carradine, Leslie Anne Warren, Rae Dawn Chong, Sam Neil and Genevieve Bujold "Star Dust". A fairy tale for adults. Very sweet and funny, and Robert DeNiro is great. "Chicago". A good musical never dies, it just gets revised. Lord of the Rings trilogy, also Pirates of the Caribbean, Slaughter House Five--my favorite Vonnegut book |
Favorite Music | I like rock and roll, not pop. Add to that classical, the blues, bluegrass, folk and folk rock. Bands: The Band, Pink Floyd, Traffic, Little Feat, the Stones, Neil Young and anyone, Grateful Dead--yes I am a "Dead Head", Traveling Wilbury's. Too many to name |
Favorite Books | Too many to name. One I'm fond of is a book Kent Weeks wrote about the discovery of the tomb KV5 in theValley of the Kings, alleged to be the resting place of the sons of Rameses II. I read a lot of genres. Include in there reading about history and archaeology, because I am an archaeologist at heart. Let this give you a clue, I never get rid of a book if I like it, and I am currently struggling to find places for books! |
