IntroductionBorn in Cork, Ireland as the Son of a FlyFishing Father I was very lucky to grow up on the banks of small freestone river which held good numbers of Brown & Sea Trout. I started flyfishing at the age of 5 under my Father's guidance and was soon spending every free moment on the water. I spent the subsequent years flyfishing for many different species in both fresh and salt water. I was sixteen when I caught my first Salmon on a single handed flyrod on the river lee in Cork on a floating line and size 8 Connemara Black. Since that moment its been pretty much all about the pursuit of Atlantic Salmon. I picked up my first double handed fly rod when I was 18 and haven't looked back since. I developed a passion for casting with these rods and an avid interest in the mechanics and physics that govern their use. I started guiding when I was 20 and have been ever since, helping someone catch their first Salmon is one of the best feelings in flyfishing. My interest in casting continued to develop to the point where I qualified as a member of APGAI Ireland, and I hold their Advanced Two-handed flycasting Instructor and guide certificate.
