| Introduction | I had been modelling 009 scale narrow gauge model railways for over 40 years, so I decided to write about my projects including my recent layouts in larger scales Gn15 and now O9. I have built layouts large, small, and micro, and find the hobby creative and enjoyable. Initially I ran my layouts at home, but from 1992 I started exhibiting at local shows with a few friends in the "Norfolk 009 Group", then later I preferred exhibiting with my wife who has been very helpful and also enjoys making scenery on the layouts.In 2016 I decided to build a layout in a larger scale - 1:24 - 15" gauge (sometimes called Gn15 scale), and we built an exhibition layout called "Longstone" in this scale. While "Longstone" was being exhibited regularly, I briefly returned to 009 modelling in 2018. Now (from late 2019) I model in O9 scale (7mm scale, 15" gauge) which I enjoy immensely. email: grumoline1975@gmail.com |
