Introduction	Parmanand Pandey, born (8-5-55) at Azamgarh. Schooling in the nearby village and then moved to Banaras Hindu University for M.A. (Philosophy), Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism. A law graduate from Delhi University. Worked as the Sub-editor in Northern India Patrika of Allahabad, Chief Sub-Editor in Jansatta, a Hindi daily of the Indian Express Group. He has been the president of the Indian Express Employees Union for many terms. He has also been a member of the statutory press Council of India for two terms. Currently he is the Secretary General of Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ), the oldest and the largest journalists’ organisation of India. Widely travelled in India and abroad regularly writes on social, legal and media matters.
