| Introduction | I'm a 32 year old wife and mother. My daughter is a very special little girl. The purpose of this blog is to help parents of children with special needs by sharing my family's struggles and triumphs. I guess you could say my area of expertise is epilepsy. My daughter, Kaia, was diagnosed with epilepsy at 6 months of age. We have tried several medications, some experimental, some FDA approved. We've also tried the Ketogenic Diet and eventually opted for a Vagus Nerve Stimulator Implant in October of 2008. I try to find humor in even the worst situation. All of my stories and advice I offer come from my true personal experiences. I am not a doctor or a nurse but I have done a lot of my own research and spoken to doctors all over the country and abroad to educate myself. Feel free to comment and ask questions.
