| Interests | My name is Shirley Jorgensen and I have completed my MEd with Jim Parson’s second cohort in 2007 at the U of A. After taking a breather, I am returning to this wonderful environment of idea exchange in order to complete my 6th year for TQS and to keep my wits about me! I look forward to sharing the collective wisdom with the counterpoint of reflection- a personal discipline I fear, that has been sidelined by “the immediate and the urgent” of life unfolding. The revamping of the CTS curricuum in AB is pulling me into this course as I have piloted the first photography course at our school and need to acquire more tech skills to do so adequately. In the dynamic and fluid context of the Storefront School in Leduc,AB, (20 min south of Edmonton), my passion for at-risk students leads me to coordinate the pregnant and parenting teen program of our outreach school. I also teach all senior high Social Studies and option courses; there is never a dull moment in this environment. When I am not running my wonderful Giant Schnauzer, Casey, in the morning, I am pursuing perfection in that ultimate cup of coffee… It’s great to be here. Thank you all for the opportunity to share.
